Do you know where the oldest fish farm in Continental Europe is? It's in Poland, near Częstochowa, on the edge of Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska in Złoty Potok. Here the crystal clear water of Elżbieta and Zygmunt sources have for decades flooded the ponds of Pstrągarnia. In the  middle of the XIX century, count Edward Raczyński decided to build a fish farm at the source of the Wiercica River.

Breton style beans is one of the most popular Polish dishes. Once it was even more popular, but it fell out of favour and came to be associated with the bachelor lifestyle. I think this is wrong because it's very tasty and easy to prepare. You just have to remember to soak the beans earlier.

In the entry about the pear meringue cake, I mentioned that meringues aren't my strength. This time I think my baking attempt was successful because I prepared little cookies rather than big meringue layers. My son was as happy as a clam because he really loves meringues. The only problem with the cookies was that I didn't make enough. Next time I'm going to bake a few more.

Pineapple is the common name of the edible pineapple fruit. A pineapple plantation would be amazing to see. I would look for the fruit overhead, but it turns out that pineapples grow quite close to the ground. The big, juicy fruit grows out of a clump of spiky leaves on top of a short stem. The main producers of pineapples are Hawaii, Brazil, Mexico and the Philippines.
