Today something yummy and fine for gourmands and great admirers of desiccated coconut. This dish is golden and crunchy on top, and white, fine and fluffy on the inside. They taste fantastic with an afternoon cup of tea. You have to remember to keep the coconut pyramids in a closed box so that they don't dry out and become hard. I rarely have any cookies to put in the box though. They always disappear immediately after baking.

From childhood we are constantly learning something: walking, writing, driving... Everywhere we are swamped with instructions which we need to follow. Unfortunately, I can't find an instruction manual anywhere for the most important situation: How to bring up a child to be a clever and good adult without ruining their personality.

What can you serve with a fish or meat dish? Buckwheat, rice, noodles, potatoes… None of these interest me. I was looking for inspiration when a tin of chickpeas caught my eye. I used to prepare a chickpea spread for bread. Necessity is the mother of invention and so I made a quick and tasty vegetable stew. I served it with fried fish and lettuce with vinaigrette.

Did you know that on 12th of April we celebrate Chocolate Day?  Due to the high calorie content in a relatively small volume and thanks to healthy compounds of sugar and fat, chocolate is a very useful source of energy. Research indicates that the ingredients of chocolate positively influence the circulatory system and the brain. Chocolate decreases tiredness and improves concentration and mood. Let’s hold on that, because it has one disadvantage: Eating too much chocolate always means gaining weight.

Does the child’s request “Lets go to the cinema” make you want to escape to the other side of the city, and does the sight of another cartoon hero cause you to scratch nervously? Diagnosis? Cartoon allergy. Luckily I do not have this problem. Quite the contrary: if I miss a really interesting movie for kids at the cinema I try to catch up in another (legal) way. Thanks to this approach, I am up to date with all the heroes my kids talk about, and I am able to clarify all particularly difficult situations which little brains do not understand. We laugh together, relive adventures and recall dialogues.
