"Hambukses" - my children’s new favourite meal

Share

Today I would like to share with you a recipe for a dish which has been served at the Sunday breakfast table for a few weeks now. Until recently, our favourite weekend meal was "egg on a box". A few weeks ago my husband prepared "hambukses". My children wouldn't be themselves if they didn't moan and groan before seeing and trying something new for breakfast. A novelty on a plate is suspicious, and it is necessary to take precautions by embellishing it with an appropriate serving of grimaces. Today "hambukses" have a permanent place on our home menu.

Fresh crusty kaiser rolls are essential when preparing "hambukses". You may also brown them in a toaster. Equally important is fresh fragrant ham. You can fry the eggs the way you like them. In our home everyone has their preference: with runny yolk which daintly drips from the kaiser roll, more congealed or well done.

Ingredients:
4 kaiser Rolls
4 slices of cheese
4 slices of ham
4 eggs
2 dill pickles
2 tablespoons of butter
a fistful of radish shoots

Fry the eggs. Turn them when the white is congealed and fry for a while, depending on how runny you want them to be. Cut every kaiser roll in half and slightly brown in a toaster. Spread each half of the kaiser roll with butter, add a slice of ham, cheese and dill pickle, a fried egg and a few radish shoots. Cover with the second half of the kaiser roll. Serve at once.

Enjoy your meal!
