Did you know that the Krecik (Mole) - the main character of the cartoon – was created in 1957? The director Zdenek Miler received an order for an educational movie about fabric production. The movie was intended for young viewers and the first version of the movie was disappointing. Only the movie with Krecik (Mole) as the main character was accepted. In the first episode Krecik got some new trousers.
Although it is difficult to believe, it sometimes occurs that there are chocolate muffins on the table and nobody wants to eat them. In my home this happened for the first time. The day after preparation, muffins aren't as yummy as just after baking, so I decided to use them to make a different kind of muffin called small molehills – a dessert inspired by the nice cartoon character Krecik. My children love Krecik just as much as I do, and they named the dessert "cookies with a surprise" because as well as traditional banana, I put bits of strawberry inside the muffins.
Ingredients (for 8 muffins)
muffins
160g of flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
0.5 teaspoons of baking soda
100g of brown sugar
2 tablespoons of dark cocoa
160ml of milk
1 egg
40ml of oil
creme
250ml of 30% sweet cream
250g of mascarpone cheese
50g of white chocolate
50g of dark chocolate
1 banana
4 strawberries
Heat the oven up to 180C. Put some paper muffin moulds into the "dimples" of a baking pan for muffins.
Mix together the dry ingredients of the muffins: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and cocoa. Mix together the milk, oil and egg in a separate bowl. Add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients and mix them in. Put the dough into some paper muffin moulds up to 1/2 of their height, and put half of a strawberry onto each one. Add some dough on top. Bake for 23-25 minutes. Leave to cool down.
Melt the white chocolate in a bain-marie. Whisk the cream. Add the mascarpone cheese and melted chocolate and mix them in. Break up the dark chocolate, add it to the mixture and stir again.
Slice the banana and cut the strawberries in half. Cut the top off every muffin. Hollow the soft centre out making a "cast". Crumble the centre and tops of the muffins. Put a slice of banana and half a strawberry into each muffin. Cover the fruit with the mascarpone mixture, making a small hill. Cover it with the crumble from the muffins and press gently.
Leave in the fridge for an hour.
Enjoy your meal!
