The cookies were sitting on a plate. Their smell lured me towards them. They were difficult to ignore. Regrettably, I had prepared them in the morning. I put them on the table to cool down and had to fight against myself. Sometimes unsuccessfully. At last I locked the "bombs" away in a box and in this way I saved a few for my family. The reason for my morning struggle was some very dark, very chocolaty cookies with walnuts and cranberries.
Ingredients:
170g of flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
140g butter or margarine
30g of cocoa
1 egg
80g of vanilla sugar
180g of brown sugar
50g of walnuts
50g of white chocolate
50g of milk chocolate
100g of dried cranberries
Heat the oven up to 180 degrees C. Pulp the butter with the brown sugar and vanilla sugar to make a fluffy mass. Add the flour, baking soda, cocoa and egg and mix them up. The dough should be stiff and thick. Add chopped nuts, chopped chocolate and cranberries to the mixture. Cover a baking sheet with some baking paper. Make little balls from the mixture, around the size of walnuts. Slightly flatten the balls and put them on the baking sheet. Keep the cookies separate (5 cm apart). Bake for 16 minutes. Take the cookies out when they have cooled down a bit.
Enjoy your meal!
